Marla Ruzicka
In the
aftermath of 9/11, Americans were not the only victims. Members of the
Green Party and Global Exchange recognized that families not affiliated
with any of the terrorist or governmental organizations involved in
"Operation Enduring Freedom" (aka the war in Afghanistan), were also
victims of the fallout from 9/11. Among these members of Green Party
and Global Exchange was Marla Ruzicka.
Born December 31, 1976 in Lakeport, California, Marla would later
organize C.I.V.I.C. (Campaign for Innocent Victims In Conflict) to
assist Iraqi victims of America's 2003 invasion. As a result of
Ruzicka's work, millions of dollars of aid was petitioned by Senator
Leahy, for the Afghani and Iraqi victims of war.
Sadly enough, on April 16th in 2005, as so many others in Baghdad have
in the past few years, Marla Ruzicka died in a car bombing.
